In my workshops, I will walk you through exactly how I create award-winning fine art portraits—step by step. And the truth is, it’s simpler than you might think. You don’t need expensive sets, art directors, or even professional models. All you really need is passion and the desire to create and an understanding of lighting, color theory, posing and editing. All easier to understand than you may have been taught.
This class is designed to help you get started using what you already have—your space, your gear, and the people around you. I began by shooting in my backyard and gradually built my portfolio using specific techniques and strategies that I’ll share with you.
Just as important, my workshops are a relaxed and supportive environment where you can learn without pressure. It’s about enjoying the process, experimenting, and growing creatively.
About Me!
I'm an Award-Winning Fine Art Portrait Photographer, Filmmaker and Educator based out of Yucatán, Mexico. My career has moved back and forth between filmmaking and photography for the last 30 years. I have worked in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Atlanta and other major markets. I have worked for companies like Paramount, MTV, Coke, and CNN as well as editorial work for magazines and later fine art portrait and artistic photography.
I am also a passionate advocate for Autism and ADHD. I care deeply for mental health and taking care of the people around me to help them reach their full potential. It's very common for people who are drawn to Photography to be on the spectrum and have some level of ADHD, so I have tried to create an environment that caters to our learning style. I will often speak in stories rather than getting technical and for those who might feel shy approaching models or being in front of others, we are here to make you feel comfortable and help you break through any limitations you want to overcome.
